It’s been a while since I’ve linked up with anyone! So excited to be linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for 5 for Friday. Hooray!

After starting the school year pregnant, and then experiencing the heartbreak of a miscarriage at 7 weeks, I am SO ecstatic to report that I am now ending the year 5 months pregnant with a healthy baby girl. We are in the midst of the name war, which I think I’m winning. The tentative Eastyn Alyse will make her debut into this world in early September!

Today is the Kentucky Oaks and tomorrow is Derby. Being in Louisville at this time of the year is SO much fun. Lots of celebrities here in my hometown and you never know who you may see out and about. However, I am so disheartened to report that it is cold and rainy, so I will be watching the races today from the comfort of my couch and placing my bets on the TwinSpires app. Plus, who really wants to go to the track on Derby weekend without being able to enjoy a mint julep? Next year! We get the day off from school today {because Derby is, well, kind of a big deal} and I’ve got my goodies to make my fascinator for tomorrow’s festivities. So, that’s what I’ll be doing today!

I just discovered recently a way to create my own listening center by creating QR codes with recorded readings, so this summer, my teaching team and I are going to create some neat little cards for our listening centers! It’s SO easy..click here to read about it. Best of all — it’s FREE and you can use the books you ALREADY HAVE in your class library! Hooray!

The countdown is officially ON. We only have 14 more days of school, with one of those being a 1pm dismissal, another one Field Day, two of them the Kindergarten Talent Show {which is my absolute favorite day of the year}, and the last one being an 11:30 dismissal. So, it’s safe to say that we only have 9 days of school left. Yes. I’m going with that. {NOT THAT I’M COUNTING DOWN OR ANYTHING!!} I’m thinking of doing a balloon countdown for the last 10. Just something fun to get these kiddos to chill. They really have no chill right now and I’m losing my mind! Is it just me!?! I like this one from First with Franklin — super cute and easy!!

Finally, I am just so excited about my new blog! I started blogging about 6 years ago with The Science Life when I taught 5th grade science. But I abandoned that blog, sadly, because it just wasn’t my jam. I whole-heartedly belong in Primary, no doubt about it.  So now, my Circus of Learning blog looks exactly like I want it and I already have 3 posts in queue scheduled to be posted!! I have so much to talk about and I am hoping I do a much better job of keeping up with it this time around.

That’s all I’m up to on this cold and rainy Kentucky Oaks day. Praying for nice weather tomorrow for the Derby! Link up with Doodle Bugs and share what you’ve got going on!
